The Magic of Working with a Horse Simulator

So it's the thing I do on a horse not a horse. Every week I get on a horse simulator, I'm talking like the real deal, moves just like a horse. You can do therapy, dressage, show jumping , even eventing. I guess you could say I do therapy. Since my neck fusion due to severe spinal cord compression I've lost a lot of confidence in things I can do. I still have some pain so I'm doing physiotherapy, Pilates, working at it at home but I really wanted to realise a teeny bit of my childhood dream and love of horses. So I found this wonderful lady near me who listened to my story and totally understands where I am coming from. She works with me on the horse doing exercises, kind but firm, just what I like. I found out my left leg is being stubborn about reconnecting the nerves to my spinal cord. It's been incredible. Today I trotted for almost a full 30 minutes. My leg and arm muscles are so much stronger than they were a few weeks ago, balance is better and just as importantly my mental health is fantastic. Hurrah to this wonderful solid creature!

Hurrah! Hurrah to carousel horses, rocking horses, mechanical horses and horse simulators! They are fantastic therapy just like the real thing!
